Influencing policy
We actively participate in key international forums where we present evidence from the field and contribute ideas to influence their policy outcomes. We also provide technical consultation to UN agencies, international development organisations and government bodies around issues of women's rights, cultural diversity & social change and sexual and reproductive health.
The formation of the African Union (AU) and the New Partnership for African Development (NEPAD) signalled the potential for coherent regional policies in Africa. The Amanitare partnership, created and supported by Rainbo, brings together members from across Africa to ensure that women's health and rights are at the centre of all regional plans and budgets for development.
To ensure that international and regional agreements are translated to laws and policies at the country level, we provide training and support to local organisations to monitor their governments' action.
