European Federation of Black Women Business Owners (EFBWBO) 27th October 2006
BIBA Award

Rainbo recognised by European Federation for its work on empowering women in Africa and the Diaspora.

Rainbo has become the 2006 winner of the prestigious Social and Humanitarian Award given by the European Federation of Black Women Business Owners (EFBWBO).

The award was presented on October 27 2006, at the annual events and awards ceremony of the EFBWBO, held at the Marriott Hotel in Grosvenor Square, London. Now in its 11th year, the awards are one of the most high profile events on the Black social calendar in the UK and the year drew finalists and guests from across Europe, the United States, South Africa and the Caribbean.

Receiving the award, Rainbo's CEO Dr Nahid Toubia said, “We are proud to receive this recognition from the community of European black women entrepreneurs and view it as an endorsement of our efforts to improve the lives of African women & girls, by empowering them to participate as full and equal citizens in society. This association with EFBWBO marks the beginning of a strong partnership linking the struggles of underprivileged African women with support from women business leaders in Europe".
